27.10.07 - Puerto Rico progressed to the Caribbean Second Round to the 2008 CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualification after defeating Haiti 1:0. Therefore, claiming the top spot in the First Round Group D at the North Side Field in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands on Friday.
After obtaining their first victory in history last Wednesday against the Cayman Islands (4:0), Puerto Rico earned their second consecutive win when Angiemar Félix scored the game winner against Haiti.

The two group victories secured Las Boricuas a place in the Caribbean Second Round where they will face Cuba, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago later this year at a venue to be determined.

The top teams from the Caribbean Second Round will progress to the final round of the 2008 CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualification. Along with the two Caribbean teams, the final round will consist of Canada, Mexico, USA and Central American Zone winner (Costa Rica-Nicaragua), at venue and dates to be announced in due course, where two teams will qualify to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

The Boricua girls are good. They eliminated Haiti. Good luck to them!

I think the FHF need to focus on the girls.  Our new crops of players are not good. However, their victory over Haiti should not alarm the other three teams. They only beat Cayman Island 4-0, a team that has kids as young as 13 years old!
