Up Close with Scott Sealy.
...A Q&A with the Wizard forward.
By: Kansas City Wizards Media Relations.

1. How did it feel to score a goal last Wednesday after overcoming injuries earlier this season?
Pretty good. I have been frustrated all year with injuries. It felt great being able to go out and help the team by scoring and contributing to the win.

2. What advice would you give to athletes who are dealing with injuries?
You can't put your head down. Keep your eyes on the goal and know what you want to accomplish. Keep working hard.

3. Can you describe the rush or the feeling you get when you score a goal?
Indescribable. It's a rare feeling you get. Every goal is different but is always a great satisfaction, especially when team wins.

4. What is the most memorable goal of your career?
The first goal I scored for my country. It was my debut vs. the Dominican Republic. It was pretty amazing to score in my first game.

5. What are some of the strengths this team has?
Talent, experience, youth. We are mentally strong and physically we are one of the best in the League. We are also a very close knit team. We have a lot of togetherness that transfers to the field.

6. What do you miss the most about Trinidad?
The weather. When it gets cold here, it is not a nice place to be. And the food is a lot different here.

7. What is the biggest difference in soccer here vs. in Trinidad?
The level here is pretty high. It is a lot more professional and has facilities that are better. With all of that at your disposal, you develop quicker here.

8. How has your son Dante influenced your life?
He is a big influence. He has given me the strength to persevere. When I am gone, especially with all the injuries, he wants me to be on the field and to score. I want to work hard to make him happy.

9. If you could play soccer with one person, who would it be and why?
Thierry Henry. He is a midfielder and very creative. He is a top class athlete, second to none. You will only get better playing with him.

Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.

I didn't expect that from Scott; he has to be referring to when he plays on the flank.

That said, I like the fact that he considers his goal for TNT as the most memorable, even if was just in the preliminary round. He hasn't scored any since (at least not in competitive football) to my knowledge, so is just a reason to go out and make more memories like that for himself and TNT football fans.

All the best.
