Photo finish in TFL
Friday, November 16th 2007

The race for championship honours in the Tobago Football League is heading for yet another photo finish for the third consecutive year and will be determine in the final round of games.

Four points separate the table topper, Stokely Vale who are on 47 points, from the fourth place team St Clair Coaching School.

Second place Charlotteville are on 46 points while Castara Retreat Goal City who are in third place are on 45 points.

None of the contenders have to meet each other in the final round of games. However, they will be very wary of their lesser opponents who will be hoping to rain on their party, if only to have the consolation of finishing their schedule with a victory against one of the top four.

Table toppers Stokely Vale who have faltered in their last three games and dropped some vital points, allowing their challengers to erase the eight points advantage they enjoyed, face the inconsistent but very dangerous Mega Brite Bethel United. Charlotteville will be odds on favourite to triumph against their neighbours Sidey's FC despite losing to Roxborough Lakers in their last game. St Clair Coaching School will have to be at their best against Lakers while Goal City, still brimming with confidence from their 1-0 victory against Stokely Vale should easily claim the three points against lowly placed Earlbrookes.

Last week in the top of the table clash, Goal City placed themselves in a strong position for the title when they edged Vale 1-0 in a very exciting match at the Dwight Yorke Stadium.

In a game in which ball possession was evenly balanced and both teams were sound in defence, Kayode Legall's first half item proved the winner. Charlotteville also faltered, missing the opportunity to knock the 'Vale' off their perch when they went down to Roxborough Lakers 3-0 while Earlbrookes outplayed Mason Hall Police Youth Club 2-0.

At the bottom of the table, NLCB Mt Grace earned a well deserve 1-0 victory against Georgia FC to keep their hopes alive of staying in the Premier Division for a second year. They now hold a four-point advantage over cellar place Mason Hall.

Do these teams get a chance to play agianst the Semi pros and Pro League footballers in Trinidad?
If they have what is their record?
