Cafu hopes to motivate T&T youths.

Two-time Fifa World Cup winner, Brazil and AC Milan defender Marco Evangelista Morales, affectionately called “Cafu”, says he hopes to motivate the youths of T&T. The 37-year-old former Brazilian captain was speaking at the Piarco International Airport VIP Lounge following his 30-minute flight from Tobago where he was the guest of honour of Tobago House of Assembly secretary, Orville London, yesterday.
The arrival of the famous Brazilian player and former captain is part of the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) and the Social Esportiva Vitoria (SEV) of Brazil which is part of the Football Extravaganza programme called Windows to the World, part of a three-stage project that focuses on sport exchanges between T&T and Latin America.
In his brief address, Cafu said that with his visit and any other by players of his stature must try to motivate children to keep studying and playing sports, even if it is not football.
He added, “ I hope that the project which we have just started with the USC and SEV will go beyond the football matches that have been played and beyond any exchanges that has happened between T&T and Brazil”.
The AC Milan midfielder, who admitted that lifting the 2002 World Cup trophy at the end of the 2002 final as captain as his proudest playing moment was quick to note that combining the efforts of each part involve will bring forward better results.
Asked if still had the desire to represent Brazil at international level, Cafu said once he is playing at a high level as he is at the moment and has good health, he will always want to wear the colours of Brazil.
Cafu who was accompanied to T&T by his brothers, Mauro and Marcelo also touched on the spate of violence that has surface once again in Italian football and hoped that the atmosphere gets back to what is was in the 1990’s when everyone was just about football.
The Brazilian continued his worldwind tour with a half-time visit to the South Zone Secondary Schools Football League RBTT InterCol final at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella which Naparima College won 2-1 against Presentation College.
He is expected to make an appearance at the East Zone InterCol final between St Augustine and EL Dorado at Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, from 4 pm today. Tomorrow, Cafu is scheduled to be take part in a match between the SEV and the T&T Under-23 players from 3 pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, before leaving for Italy.

Very nice...I really like that they're taking the time to genuinely go out and get in touch with the community.  I'm sure they have no idea how much the individual touch means to these kids.
