STORRS, Conn. (December 12, 2007) - Five members of the University of Connecticut men's soccer team earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast Region honors for the 2007 season, including First Team members Julius James (Maloney Gardens, Trinidad), O'Brian White (Scarborough, Ontario) and Toni Stahl (Tuusula, Finland). In addition, Ryan Cordeiro (Highland Mills, N.Y.) and Akeem Priestley (Kingston, Jamaica) each earned Second Team recognition.

All three members of the First Team are eligible for NSCAA All-America honors, which are expected to be released Friday in conjunction with the 2007 College Cup.

James ends his career at UConn as one of the most successful defenders in program history. He is a two-time NSCAA All-America and MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist. In its inaugural year, he is also a finalist for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award after becoming the three-time BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. James was the anchor of the Husky defense that posted 14 shutouts, including four in the postseason, and a 0.53 goals-against average. He played every minute of the regular season, tallying the game-winning goal against Syracuse and a goal and an assist against Louisville in the BIG EAST Semifinals.

Also a 2007 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, White wrapped up his junior season as the NCAA leader in scoring with 23 goals and seven assists for 53 points. He was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-BIG EAST after earning conference Player of the Week five times this season. White had multi-goal efforts on seven occasions, including three hat tricks, becoming the first player in UConn history to tally back-to-back hat tricks, as well as three in a career. He now holds the UConn record for single-season goals, bypassing the mark set by Joe Morrone, Jr., 28 years ago. White is eighth all-time with 101 career points (40g, 21a).

Stahl joined James and White on the First Team All-BIG EAST this season, a year after being named the 2006 conference Rookie of the Year. In his sophomore season, Stahl played and started in 21 games, tallying four assists. Three of four helps were on goals by White, including one game-winner. Stahl played an average of 83 minutes per game at midfield.

Cordeiro and Priestley each add Second Team All-Northeast honors to their Second Team All-BIG EAST accolades. Cordeiro finished second on the team in scoring with eight goals and 10 assists, while Priestley was tied for third with four goals and 13 assists.

The Huskies finished the 2007 season with a 20-3-1 record after falling to Virginia Tech, 1-0, in the NCAA Quarterfinals. UConn was the BIG EAST regular-season and tournament champion for the second time in the last three years.

Up to now...i doh understand why men like he and Hernandez still like dey off de TTFF radar. :-\
The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today are Christians who acknowledge Jesus ;with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.
