Primus leads SSFL All Star team in Jamaica.
By: Joel Bailey (Newsday).
[/size]

Robert Primus is leading an 18-member Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) All Star team in Jamaica where they are scheduled to play two matches against the hosts’ All Star Secondary Schools team.
The games are due to take place on Monday and Wednesday while the TT lads, who left for Jamaica on Thursday, are expected to return home on December 20.
Primus, who captained Malick during this year’s SSFL season, is one of seven members of the Trinidad and Tobago team which participated in the 2007 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in South Korea.
Primus, a natural defender who played in the midfield for his school team, will be joined by utility player Daneil Cyrus of Mason Hall, defender Akeem Adams of Presentation San Fernando, midfielder Kevin Molino of Mucurapo, striker Marcus Joseph of Vessigny and the Fatima pair of defender Sheldon Bateau and forward Stephen Knox.
Naparima, the national Intercol princes, has three selections – captain Sherrick Hilaire, fellow central defender Isiah Smith and TT Under-15 midfielder Shahdon Winchester, while Big 5 winners San Juan also has three picks — captain and influential playmaker Elijah Manners, forward Neil Mitchell and defender Jamal Spencer.
Completing the team are Carapichaima’s long-serving captain Trent Lougheed, Mikel Williams of St Anthony’s, Jerome Williams of Scarborough and the goalkeeping pair of Malick’s Joseph Baird and St Benedict’s Kareem Gray.
The selection committee focused exclusively on the players participating in the respective SSFL Championship Divisions (North, South, East, Central and Tobago), hence the non-inclusion of any member of North Zonal Intercol winners St Mary’s.
But the most notable omissions from the team are El Dorado’s Jamaal Gay, who single-handedly carried his team to the national Intercol final, fellow lanky forward Akeem Bailey of Malick, goalkeeper Kevin Mussio of St Anthony’s and Carapichaima’s Jeffon Cornwall.
Naparima’s successful coach Shawn Cooper will guide the team during their stay in Jamaica with Malick’s Sterling Figaro as his assistant. Completing the technical staff are manager Anthony Creed, assistant manager Bryan Williams, physiotherapist Earl Joseph and SSFL official Lawrence Seepersad.

Very encouraging story. These youth need exposure, exposure, travel, travel (especialy those who did not travel to Korea) and they would be good to go. They need to become men fast as that is who dey meeting up should contract offers happen ... and this is one helpful ingredient in that  process ... away from home in competitive rough-neck Jamaica.
So they go see a nex' country's nationalism and start reflectin' on T&T where we think we goin'.
Daiz good. Eat them up Knox, Joseph, Primus!! Show dem!  >:(
Supportin' de Warriors right tru.

Hmmmm! The losing streak for the T&T All-Stars continue from last year with a 2-1 loss to the Jamaica Manning All-Stars team.
Expect another loss when they play the DaCosta Cup All-Stars. ;D

OOOOO I now see why Trinidad continues to lose to Jamaica each year in the Manning and Da Costa Cup. The Jamaician All Star Team is an UNDER 20 COMPARED TO TRINIDAD'S UNDER 19.

Please note that our U-17 coach, now passed away, RIP, was ripped apart by the football public for not picking our best U-17 players. He usually went for the players on his club team. These Manning and Dacosta Cup teams are tougher because they are truly our best U-17 players.

Yute, I tellin u the run down of what going on here. Besides, the pressure he came under for excluding the better players arguably contributed to his death. The Goalscorers, Andre Clennon and Palmer weren't included. Andre Steele, best U-17 player in the Caribbean in my opinion(unnuh soon see also), rode the bench for the most part along with Akeem Brown who scored a cracker against Mexico. Bennet of Garvey Maceo was absent. Don't worry, you all will hear about him on Wednesday when the other spanking take place. 4 or 5? That's a lot. More than likely the 4 or 5 that didn't get any playing time. The team playing our Dacosta and Manning All Stars is basically your national U-17. With Knox etc..
