Dundee United 2-2 MyPa 47
MyPa win on away goals after a 2-2 aggregate

Chisholm in state of shock
Dundee United were dumped out of the Uefa Cup on the away goals rule after a late collapse against MyPa 47.

Following a 0-0 draw in Finland, United appeared to take control of the tie when midfielder Mark Kerr's 20-yard shot flew in after 15 minutes.

Collin Samuel blasted them further ahead on 29 minutes after Jim McIntyre had flicked on a Barry Robson cross.

But Adriano scored from the penalty spot on 74 minutes and MyPa's Brazilian striker lobbed in a second soon after.

A frantic finale saw United lay siege to the visitors' goal but they could not find a way through, despite good chances falling to Robson and Paul Ritchie.

United were guilty of throwing the game away and switching off, thinking the game was won.

There was an early scare when, with only 90 seconds gone, goalkeeper Derek Stillie carelessly smashed a clearance off Ritchie but when the ball fell to Adriano, the striker's lob was saved by the Tannadice number one.

But the home side soon gained the upper hand in midfield and got the breakthrough thanks to a wonderful goal.

Robson curled a free-kick from the right into the MyPa-47 penalty area and when the ball was headed clear, Kerr controlled it and quickly drove a powerful right-footed shot into the net.

And on the half hour United doubled their lead with a slick counter-attacking move.

Striker Collin Samuel was on target in the first half

Lee Miller sent Robson away on the left and when the former Inverness player swung his cross in to the box McIntyre glanced the ball on to Samuel at the back post, who slammed in a close-range shot.

In the 35th minute Miller forced a wonderful save from Janne Korhonen with a powerful 12-yard header seconds before Niklas Tarvajarvi's angled shot at the other end went narrowly past Stillie's right hand post.

After the interval Grant Brebner flashed a 25-yard volley high over the bar and Kerr shot wide from closer in.

In the 67th minute McIntyre beat his man cleverly in the visitors' penalty area but when he stood the ball up at the back post Kerr had to stretch to head the ball off the bar.

However, the game turned on its head when MyPa-47 got a penalty after Stuart Duff fouled Adriano just after Stillie had made a great save from Tero Taipale.

The Brazilian slotted the spot-kick away with great confidence and instantly a nervousness enveloped Tannadice.

And in the 81st minute there was disaster for United when Adriano beat the United offside trap and lobbed Stillie to draw the sides level.

A stunned United threw everything at the visitors and with six minutes to go Robson went clean through on goal but blasted his shot straight at Korhonen and then in the last minute Ritchie blasted over the bar from only 10 yards out.
