According to a statement on his Web site on Wednesday, Maradona field a court complaint against Argentine businessman Ernesto Texo and unnamed associates for failing to return the memorabilia. It did not say when the complaint was filed in Buenos Aires.
Texo organized and launched an exhibit of Maradona's items, called "M10,'' in Buenos Aires in 2003. It moved through Latin America and Europe.
Among the missing items, according to Maradona, were his 1986 World Cup medal, jerseys from Pele, Franz Beckenbauer and Lothar Matthaeus, playing shorts and socks he used as captain of Argentina's World Cup team, and personal gifts such as a golden Arabian sable and unspecified gifts from his friend and Cuba leader Fidel Castro.
