Walsall 2-1 Gillingham

Jan 26, 2008

Walsall moved up to fifth in the League One table with a hard-earned victory against Gillingham.
The Saddlers took the lead when veteran forward Tommy Mooney headed home from Troy Deeney's cross.

Mark Bentley sent a header just wide as Gillingham fought back, but Edrissa Sonko settled the game following good work by Lee Holmes and Mooney.

The visitors scored a consolation goal in injury time when Andrew Crofts fired in from 25 yards.
