Ok, Setanta put an article on their site:
http://www.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/02/01/Prem-Keane-and-Jones-on-Setanta/ Keane ponders life without Kenwyneby Tom Kell, 01 February 2008 Roy Keane reaffirmed his admiration for summer purchase Kenwyne Jones when speaking to Setanta Sports, scoffing at suggestions the player could be lured away from The Stadium of Light for just £12 million.
Keane’s side travel to Anfield to play Ailing Liverpool on Saturday teatime, a game being shown live on Setanta Sports.
Rafa Benitez’s side were amongst those reputed to be interested in Jones during the January transfer window, but Keane is adamant the player has proved priceless so far this season.
“£12 million? You’d have to double that at least,” the Irishman told Setanta Sports’ Friday Football Show.
“He can be a top, top striker, one of the best on the world. He’s got the potential but potential is one thing and fulfilling it is another.
“That’s why we hope we can bring the best out of Kenwyne. He’s been a pleasure to work with and I hate to think where we would have been without him.”
The Trinidad and Tobago international himself admits that The Black Cats are far from out of danger, but feels their 2-0 win over relegation rivals Birmingham in the week could prove to be a turning point.
“I think with the battle at the bottom half, it was definitely necessary for us to beat a team around us to catapult us into that safety position,” he added.
“But it’s not over yet. The bottom half of the table is the most exciting part right now.
“You never know which way it’s going to twist but hopefully Sunderland will come out on top."
