Egypt are a well balanced team. The goalkeeper was outstanding today for Egypt, but overall the team most be complemented. The individual technical skill of the Egyptians was excellent and though IC was physically stronger, the Egyptians had a good tactical plan in squeezing the space in front of goal and doubling up out wide.
Maybe in hindsight IC could of use their superiority in the air more especially in the second half.

And then there were two ... here we go again, Egypt strong in this competition and maybe they'll disappear not to emerge on the other side of WC qualifying again.

On Fox Football Fone In last night they said the soul of Football is in Africa. This African Nations' Cup is a refreshing look at our game. They play with bravery and joy in the true spirit of the game. Watch Ivory Coast and Egypt today was great experience. The next leap African football takes will propel them ahead of the pack and firmly in the hearts of all fans.

I was thinking that exact same thing. Africa is a hell of a Confederation to qualify from. Egypt and Cameroon eh make it last WC, imagine dat.

I remember in 1990 they should have beaten Holland with all their big name stars . The game end up 1-1. They then tied Ireland and lost 1-0 to England. Two ties and a loss, but they real put a fright into dem teams

Cameroon were very disappointing today. Technically they did not display anything and tactically they played far too direct. As far as their general play Cameroon was way too physical, foul after foul. Egypt showed good technique and tactically had good variety, playing short and quick, switching with long diagonal passes and solid defending (especially individually). Especially in the second half Egypt had Cameroon on the back foot for long periods, I think their was a stage where they got 4-5 straight corners.
I think 1-0 flatterd Cameroon, it could have been a wider margin.

Good refereeing today, very consistent, got to give him his props.
