Rangers anticipate Mc Farlane return
By: Randy Bando (ttproleague.com).

St Ann’s Rangers will have to wait a little longer for the return of their ace forward and former inspirational skipper Errol Mc Farlane in April from Lebanon.
The Trinidad and Tobago international plying his goal scoring trade with Lebanese First Division club Al Mabarrah FC for their 20072008 season was expected to return in mid-March but an extension in the Lebanese League will see him join the TT Pro League club in April.
The Lebanese League will end in April and during the break Mc Farlane is expected to feature for St Ann’s Rangers and this could be a boost for the 2008 season.
In 2007 before leaving Trinidad for Lebanon in September, Mc Farlane finished with 14 goals in the League, just one goal shy of Golden Boot winner Peter Byers of San Juan Jabloteh.
“When he returns this is where he will be playing,” said Anthony Streete, now assistant coach at St Ann’s Rangers. “This is where Errol (Mc Farlane) calls home when he is in Trinidad and I don’t see him going anywhere else to play.”
Mc Farlane is also a hero with Al Mabarrah. For the 20072008 Lebanese season Mc Farlane is surely going to finish as the club’s highest goal scorer just as he did with Rangers in 2007.
Just as the Lebanese First Division is coming to an end, the TT Pro League is about to start in April and Rangers new head coach Dion La Foucade is toiling with the ‘St Ann’s Boys’ during pre-season.
However La Foucade and assistant coach Anthony Streete (last season’s head coach) are yet to make their final cut for 2008. The St Ann’s based team will play a couple practice matches over the next few days where La Foucade and Streete will have their final say.
Working his way in the Rangers squad this season is former W Connection and A League club Puerto Rico Islanders midfielder Leslie Fitzpatrick. The 28 year old Trinidadian has been training with Rangers since the start of their pre-season in February.
Rangers however are suffering a bit of a setback with their number one goalie Jamaican Shane Mattis who suffered a thigh injury during training last week. He is expected to be out for another week before returning to full training.
