Terry Fenwick sacks Jabloteh four.
By: Nigel Simon
[/size]

Less than one month after taking over the reigns at T&T Professional Football League club CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh, English-born coach Terry Fenwick has sacked four players.
The players are ex-nationals Nigel “Croc” Pierre, Ansil Elcock, Vernon “Zartie” Bailey and Michael Celestine.
Contacted yesterday, Fenwick confirmed the sacking.
“Yes, unfortunately we have parted ways with a few guys who have served the club well in the past.
“At this point in their careers, I don’t feel they are good enough for my team,” added Fenwick.
Fenwick was happy to announce the promotion of youth team players ex-Queen’s Royal College midfielder Jason Devenish, Terryl Elwyn of San Juan Senior Secondary and national Under-20 defender Carlon Murray to the senior team along with the acquisition of and Devaughn Dummette of Guyana.
“I just felt that the time was right to bring in fresh blood and hopefully they would help to take us in the right direction.
“Devenish, Elwyn and Murray have been with the youth teams for a while now and will be given the chance to prove themselves.”
Pierre and current Jabloteh defender Keyeno Thomas were snapped up by ex-Jabloteh coach Ricky Hill at the start of the 2003 season and helped the team to the league title.
However, since the start of the season, Pierre has not been able to re-discover his goalscoring touch as was often left out of the starting team by Michael Grayson, who was the team’s stand-in coach.
Bailey started his career at Jabloteh before moving to Joe Public and then back to Jabloteh before being fired while Celestine came through the youth ranks of Jabloteh.

It amazing how people does have vastly different opinions. Fenwick say dat Nigel Pierre eh good enough fuh Jabloteh, but Corneal think he should be on de national side.

it's not often that you see people being so undiplomatic in statements like these.  Usually they like to beat around the bush and say tings like we decided to move in a different direction or whatever.  Not fenwick, it eh have no water in he mouth.

Good Move...he should be applauded.

Is about time we get some seriousness in we football no more favoritism.

Good to see a coach bringing in new blood from the youth ranks.

Too bad we only serious coaches who doh care about favoritism is Foreigners. ???

Ah could go down ah list of coaches who if given the chance to coach T&T will immediately go for who they like...whether or not they could perform. Hopefully it is a new page in our football growth.

Although I liked Jan Steadman though...he was ah serious coach...maybe ah little too serious ???

We have some good local coaches but for some reason when it came to the national team we just kept recycling the same failures.

We go get it right though.

Wow! Bold move by Fenwick, the man has backbone and some balls. I agree this kind of approach by clubs will do our football well in the future. Its a professional sport and men must either be good enough or not its black and white. no more favouritism. I applaud Jabloteh and Fenwick on this one here especially bringing in the youngsters. Fenwick is smart. He wants winners not favourites. To bring five U20 players into any pro league team one time is a big move. thats the future of TT football comin through right there. we need this.

Mexico put ah 19 year old on de field last night against us and he did well. Why cant TT do the same if we could only give the youngsters and chance like Jabloteh is doing maybe next time we might have a few good youngsters on de squad.
