Japan Shocked In Bahrain
Bahrain shocked Japan in Manama to move top of Group Two in their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign.
The 1-0 victory was the first time that the tiny Gulf State has ever tasted victory against the three-time Asian champions.
Japan fielded a totally J-League based team and the game was heading for a goalless draw in the Bahraini capital when, 13 minutes from time, Ala’a Hubail struck to score the only goal of the game.

That leaves Bahrain three points clear at the top of the group.

Earlier in the evening, Oman won 1-0 in Thailand.

good one Bahrain
Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.

Fellas, alyuh doh realise November 2006 is Bahrain November 1989. you know nah, needing a draw at home etc etc...

This is a real decent result so soon after considering the tailspin we went into - come like we beating Mexico in the semis in 2000 - and especially after their poor showing in the AFC championships.

i see bahrain on 6pts, that means that they win 2 games on the trot.

I wonder before these wins, when last did they win a game?

I would not be surprised if it was counted in years, serious.
