Trinidad and Tobago and Haiti qualified for the CONCACAF Futsal Final round with respective victories on Saturday in the CFU Finals at the CONCACAF Centre of Excellence. Haiti totally dominated proceedings in a 19-1 win over St Maarten while T&T had to work a bit harder for a 7-3 win over Suriname.
T&T meets Haiti in the final from 6pm while Guyana and Suriname play for third place from 4pm on Sunday. The Surinamese had on Friday defeated Puerto Rico following a minute’s silence before kick off as a mark of condolence for those who perished in the Suriname plane crash the previous day. One Futsal player based in Suriname lost his life while three players from the current Suriname Futsal team lost relatives in the crash.
