Stern/Southampton under big pressure tonight
« on: April 28, 2008, 02:37:25 PM »
Stern was pretty ineffective tonight, not much service to be fair....big time pressah all game from West Brom. Was 0-0 first half then with 20  mins left in the 2nd half Pearson take off Stern and Saganowski replacing them with Wright-Phillips and an England U-18 international called lalana or something like that......and guess what the fella score bout 4 mins later....West Brom equalise about 10 mins after that and now Southampton desparately holding on.

Game done 1-1. West Brom as good as promoted due to their goal difference. Southampton still in the relegation Zone and in BIG, BIG trouble of going down, they have to win their last game to have a chance of staying up.

Dat Southampton team waaaaaay too old. De average age of the starting team is bout 31. And that's with one 21 year old dragging down de average.

Nah Stern will get offers to stay in the Championship man.
He's the 4th highest scorer, dat will not go unnoticed.

Question is: will they let him go?

Check some serious last day drama
Blackpool [could be relegated in case of loss] v Watford [could lose its playoff spot in case of loss ]
Charlton v Coventry [could be relegated in case of loss]
Crystal Palace [could lose its playoff spot in case of loss] v Burnley
Ipswich [could gain playoff spot] v Hull [could gain automatic promotion]
Sheff Wed [could be relegated] v Norwich, 14:00
Southampton [could be relegated] v Sheff Utd [could gain playoff spot]
Stoke [could lose its automatic promotion] v Leicester [could be relegated]
Wolverhampton [could gain playoff spot] v Plymouth

To be honest though, if you finish with a - 17 goal difference (exactly stern tally  :o) you doh deserve to stay up in a league. Southampton must be regretting them two hand ah fig they collect earlier on. That might be the difference between them staying up and going down.
