Mollon signs on with Swedish club.

Trinidad and Tobago National Women's team midfielder Darcel Mollon has signed a contract with Swedish club Kvarnsveden.

Mollon, formerly of the T&T Under 17 and Under 20 teams has already scored twice for the new club and is being described as the signing of the season, according to reports.

On Tuesday, Mollon opened the scoring early in the first half to help her team to its first win of the season. Mollon was part of the T&T Olympic team which participated in the CONCACAF Finals in Mexico.

T&T are currently preparing for upcoming World Under 17 qualifying action. T&T will host the 2008 CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship from July 17-26 at Bacolet’s Dwight Yorke Stadium and Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya.

The inaugural eight-team tournament will have two groups of four during the first round from 17-21 July. The semifinals and finals will take place at the Marvin Lee Stadium on 24 and 26 July, respectively, CONCACAF announced on Wednesday.

Along with the hosts, the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship will have Canada, Mexico and USA from the North Zone; Costa Rica, El Salvador from Central America; Jamaica and Puerto Rico from the Caribbean.

The draw to determine the two first round groups for the 2008 CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship will be announced in due course. The CONCACAF Championship will qualify three teams to the inaugural FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup New Zealand 2008.

Clean sheet and an assist in an important home win. Sarah, Paula and Darcel all had a part to play in game that pots Kvarnsveden in the mix to fight for promotion. After last weeks loss it was important to bounce back and they did. Sarah and Paula helped keep a clean sheet and Darcel had the assist on the winning goal. We are now looking forward to next game as Kvarnsveden travels to play the top team in the league.

Great Premier!

With a difficult away game Kvarnsveden with Darcel, Sarah and Paula came away with a convincing 3-0 win. Playing away against an oppenent that is picked to be in the top 4, our CONNECT players showed their quality as they led their team to the first 3 point of the 2008 season. Darcel with her game winner opened the scoring early in the first half. Immedialty followed by another goal from her teammate put the team into a comfortable lead. Sarah, than killed the game with a good header to make it 3-0.

- Kvarnsveden did not play that well but they showed their strength with a quality away win...

Match report from July 31st (google translated)

We won 1: a finalmatchen but that brought us. After a hard träningsperiod so it looked as if the legs were a little tough. All tried to play as usual, with the momentum and fan legs bar but not as many wanted. But now the heavy part was a little bit easier training now for a while do we get in good shape.

Spelmässigt in this match, it was heavy at 1 a half, many stressful decisions and very early clearance. Yet, we are making 3 goals. 1-0 makes Sarah after an impossible situation in strffområdet. 2-0 makes Darcel after a soloprestation on the edge. 3-0 is roughly the same way but Darcel strikes one of their patented speech as Ida Pe just put it on the foot. 2 a half spelmässigt become much better, but we do only 1 goal, but as of late goals. Upprullning through the midfield, Di heels up the ball, so Mia may be coasting and put it on. Nice!

One Heads up eh...dah place does make ah serious kinda cold eh...and after the novelty wear orf, it could send any carib in ah serious doldrum...dem ppl does play bal in snow storm normal, normal, so friends an family doh ease up on the love, send some every chance yuh get, an leh she fly home for all Internationals still, to get some 'Hotte Shoppe' something...all the best youth, met her in MTL for the U17, her , the suck finger girl (Cordner), an the red girl (allyuh know dey names) were definate stand-outs, she got injured in that tournament doh....but classy nevertheless.
