Alyuh men read this? from a newspaper article
« on: September 06, 2005, 10:12:56 AM »
St Clair was sacked as coach of the team after a 5-1 defeat to Guatemala in the first round, but was allowed to coach the team in its goalless home draw with Costa Rica at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The man get fired after the 5-1 loss but they still let him coach the team,

And alyuh does call me a mad man.

Is mad people running football in Trinidad you fire a man and then tell him go and coach?

That is what the assistant is for! to stand in the itermin until they new coach come

How crucial is that first CR match now? We would be sitting on 10 points now.

If I recall correctly St. Clair's dismissal was announced before the CR game. He managed the game knowing that it was his last.

At the time after the 5 we collect I was happy just to get a draw against CR. It was proof of life. In fact some people (not me) looked at that result to suggest that Bertie was turning things round and should not have been fired.

Truth is we shoulda fire bsc after US game at the latest, but hindsight is 20-20 now we need a W in CR. we needed to protect we home vs Pan, CR and Guat bottom line. anything else is a failure.

He was not officially fired as coach after the guatemala game.  He was fired after the costa rica game.

A decision was made to find a replacement for him after the guat game within the heirachy, and he only continued as coach since they had no replacement for him as yet and the costa rican game was 4 days later!

The announcement of him being fired only came after the costa rican game that we dreww 0-0.  He was still officially the coach then.

Bertie shoulda get axe from the time St kitts and dem had we on the back foot.

Had we brought in Leo then.....he woulda have the whole digicel cup to suss out players, and we woulda have at least 3 more points than what we have now.
