Imus made those statements deliberately, he knew exactly who and what "Pacman" Jones was, he had previously discussed him several times on his show. The only "inference" to be drawn is that he deliberately used the race card to give himself notoriety.
Since he got fired and had to prostrate himself before Rev Al, he has become a nobody. That is BAD NEWS in his industry. So I guess he needed a little something to spice up his image. Imus is just a self-aggrandizing has-been-never was. On reflection, his cheap attempt at publicity was not worth the 5 minutes I spent typing these posts.

I agree with you there, sometimes people need to be called out and jolted out of complacency. But in a better way than this. If you want to see blacks called out just keep your eyes on the US prseidential elections.
