Petrotrin stun Jabloteh.
By: Lasana Liburd (Express).
[/size]

United Petrotrin pulled within three points of T&T Pro League champions, CLICO San Juan Jabloteh, yesterday with a last gasp 1-0 win over the eastern outfit in Palo Seco.

Jabloteh ran out comfortable 3-0 winners the last time the teams met, on July 1 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. Yesterday's triumph, though not nearly as emphatic, must have hurt the losers at least as much. The game appeared to be petering out to a tame draw when national striker Jerol Forbes stabbed home from an inswinging corner and went cartwheeling away.

It was Forbes' fifth goal this season and ensured Petrotrin's first league win since May. As an added bonus, Forbes had spoiled the day for a club who groomed him as a youngster but did not sufficiently rate his ability as an adult. Still, Jabloteh had their moments on the crude, uneven surface.

Karlon Murray and Jason Marcano went close in the first half, while substitute Lester Peltier had an effort disallowed for an infringement on Petrotrin goalkeeper Perry Martin in the 62nd minute. But Forbes' 88th minute strike ensured that the former Under-17 World Cup player laughed last and loudest.

In another Pro League game yesterday, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA rallied from a goal down to beat ten-man Tobago United 2-1. Tobago led in the 20th through Guyanese Collie Hercules, who was scoring his seventh league goal of the season. But Jamal Jack was sent off in the 39th minute and Guyanese striker Nigel Codrington gave Caledonia victory with a pair of goals in the 39th and 78th minutes.

Yesterday's T&T Pro League results:

United Petrotrin 1 (Jerol Forbes 89) v San Juan Jabloteh 0

Ma Pau 0 v St Ann's Rangers 5 (Keon Edwards 13, Errol McFarlane 27, Devon Modeste 50, Josimar Belgrave 52, Christon Thomas 80)

Caledonia AIA 2 (Nigel Codrington 39-pen, 78) v Tobago United 1 (Collie Hercules 20)

Joe Public 2 v North East Stars 1

W Connection 1 v Defence Force 0

But Tobago still last on de table, who coaching them then, Santa Caluse...  :rotfl:  Ron LaForest know game but he not technically good as a coach.

Defence Force really surprise meh this season, they doing bad !! like they sell Richard Roy, cant hear from him at all.

Rangers on a roll !!!!

What surprises me is that a 40-year old man (Collie Hercules) scoring goals every week in the T&T pro league. Makes me wonder what type of defenders we have.

Caledonia beat Tobago United, that game was like Guyana A v Guyana B .... good practice game for Jamal Shabazz to scout for talent.

I supporting Petrotrin and Jabloteh, once Guyanese AIA or Jamaican Public dont win, I happy.

Even if W Connection win I happy, because I will feel good as they import quality players compare to the other Pro League teams, I prefer to be beaten by the best. Hope they enter into the CONCACAF cup this year.

Ok cool.  He was a very good balla from his days back at Fatima.

He and Gorian Highley was supposed to be 2 a we real up and comers.  At least we hearin again bout Josimar.  Not a word bout Gorian and he in my opinion was a player with REAL POTENTIAL.
