funny thing is, the last chelsea game i went to was against newcastle at stamford bridge in 2006..

and that game play off exactly like this one..

back then, SWP put down a pile of lala (malouda), the game was flat with hardly any chances and frustrating. i think that one was a draw or a narrow win for chelsea, but watching this game today it was like groundhog day..

Sometimes Chelsea does play a little too methodical...like they can't seem to remove themselves from that style of thinking.  Granted, Newcastle had little to no forays in their own attacking third..but, of the few times they did, Chelsea too often made a few too many backward or lateral passes in their counterattack, rather than putting the Newcastle defense on their heels quickly by running at them.  Newcastle were prepared to tough out a defensive draw in this one and seemed to have played more with a sense of commitment to get their result than Chelsea played with to get theirs.    Oh well....let's hope Aston Villa hold on and everything will be kosher for this weekend.

well the other "big 3" failed to score as well but they also failed to concede and got at least a point

arsenal are past masters of letting opportunities to pass us by

no, it is a pre-emptive strike for the possible/inevitable, taking the sting out of it, like looking away before the doctor jabs that needle or just before the train wrecks

na breds..look for your arsenalo team to looktowards our game as the SEASON TURNER/DEFINER...fabregas go try to rally up the youths as the new skippe with the belief that if they can get it done against us then they still are in it and that alone sound like a speech that you would hear in a action movie before the brave battle.

QUESTION IS WHICH BATTLE IS IT ???will it be one where Arsenal wins or one like Sparta or Troy where once you essentially lose your team goes to ruins

Chelsea on teh da though 2-0 (IF so little)

actually IF we beat you it benifits Liverpool (if they win) and to lesser extents ManU and Villa (if they win) but thats onlygame week 15 with another 23 to go

btw think of it this way, had arsenal beaten birmingham home and away last year we would have been prem champs (not a spilled milk cry a fact) so results against big 4 are not the only determining factor

look how liverpool let thier win over you guys slip with a loss to spurs.

its a mara thon and anything can happen

its why the prem ranks higher than anyother league in terms or entertainment

Lucky win by Chelsea.... classy finish by Anelka.

Second yellow on Lampard was undeserved... barely a foul, but sold well by the defender.

Cluj will attempt to hold us back at Stamford Bridge.
That will be an epic fail.
Goals will rain down on them.

Bordeaux has to travel to Roma .... there is no way they will get any homeside advantages that they got today. Roma will easily dispatch of them.

Chelsea and Roma to the second round. No fuss.

So whats the deal with Inter meeting Drogba for dinner somewhere in London? Like Mourinho can't do things the right way? .. first Ashley Cole, now Drogs. If you want a player under contract, talk to the club. Inter do the same thing with Hleb when Arsenal went to play AC Milan.
