At BMO with 21,900 of my NOF's (network of Friends) it was Canada & Jamaica playing to a one all draw.
Nil nil at half ... Both teams had their chances however the half was mostly uneventful , both sides just working on getting their feet wet.
Second half was a totally differnt ball game (it was quite electric for all supporters) , Canada scored first on a beauty by our favourite # 14 , Jamaican Defense gave him some time at the top of the box & the back on the net was found.
A short time later Jamaica on a corner kick scored on an own goal as MR. Onstad was off of his line completly & was totally out of position , he actually fisted the ball in the net as it was all he could do to get his hand on the kick. He looked quite shakey for a number of minutes after that & Jamaica almost put a free kick on from about 23 yards out a short time after. Both sides moved the ball up and down the field , Canada had the better chances & the Jamaican keeper Ricketts was the player ofnthe match as he made some amazing saves. The Jamaican speed up front caused many a fit to the Canadian defense. Fouls were 27 for Canada & 13 for Jamaica. three yellows for Canada. Believe their was one for Jamiaca. Thought the man in the middle did a good job as both linesmen.
The streamer brigade were a plentiful whilst Jamaica was taking corners , the crowd was well behaved in the forumites humble opinion. It's gonna be tough goining into the Reggae boyz house to take three points, we shall see.
Was in section 118 half way up with a good mix of Canadian and Jamaican supporters , was a lot of fun !!
Cheers 19
The rules of soccer are very simple, basically it is this; if it moves, kick it, if it doesn't move kick it until it does.
