This week I want to do something a little different. An association calling itself "The Veteran Footballers Association" and manned by some Trinbagonian friends of mine now resident in the United States are trying to put together what they call a "Calypso Football Hall of Fame".

Its first order of business is to draw up a list of the first 100 inductees and I have been asked to ask you to help complete the list.

From the list that they have sent me it appears that they want suggestions to fill out the 1990-1999 period but-who knows-they may have left out some football notables from the other decades which you may want to suggest they include.

By the way, is there any other Tobagonian on the list they have sent other than Dwight Yorke and, if not, how could he be the only Tobagonian on a list of 100 Trinidadian and Tobagonian star footballers.

What was the state of the game in the sister island before Dwight's coming? Were they any other great Tobagonian footballers who were overlooked by the various selection committees based in Trinidad? And a nex' thing-where are the young Tobagonian footballers who were expected to emerge given Yorke's amazing-and still continuing-climb to fame and fortune? Or to ask the question another way-what is the state of football in Tobago now-is there another coach of Mr St Clair's quality hovering in the wings.

Enough talk-below, now, is the list, which should not only help you by "jostling" your memory but provide a platform for good ole talk in a fish broth lime, drinks, of course, being totally optional:

In the last category, I would include Leonson Lewis, Jerren Nixon, Angus Eve, Hudson Charles, Marvin Faustin, David Nakhid, Clint Marcelle, Dexter Francis...I will stop there for now. All these fellas really span the 80s and 90s, but they could fit easily in 1990s.

I was wondering about that. Stern really could go either way depending on your point of view...so might as well leave him for the 2000s. That way you could recognnize someone who could only fit in the 1990s.

I taking Stern in the nineties...he was going at more than a goal a game in them days. Apart from Nahkid, I will go with Leonson and maybe Eve just for his longevity. But all the other men (my apologies Marcelle and Nixon), I doh think that getting a foreign contract should be the basis to make you qualify.

Maybe Marcelle could get a bligh for being our youngest international ever (I think I read that somewhere?). I would also have to push for Clayton Morris in front of Dexter Francis, Marvin Andrews, Avery John or Reynold Carrington

Scott Sealey is a better striker than Buggy Haynes

Aurtis Whitley is a better midfielder than Leon Carpette

Matter of fact, Desmond "Baby" Headley was a better midfielder dan Leon Carpette but me eh see he name on dey.

In other words, dey doh TRULY belong.  But den again....men wuss dan dem on de list so why not dem?  Dah list is a farce.
