Ronaldo late strike denies champs Jabloteh.
By: Flex Mohammed.

In a re-schedule match at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium on Tuesday night left the top 2 teams in the T&T Pro League to battle it out. W Connection played host to CLICO San Juan Jabloteh and as expected the game proved to be an entertaining one as the Southerners had to dig deep to stop Jabloteh from going 4-points clear on the table. San Juan Jabloteh found it hard to maintain their lead after none stop pressure from W Connection and had to settle for a 2-all draw after leading 2-1 at the half only for combative Brazilian midfielder Ronaldo Viana to score the equalising goal in the 90 minute to stop the Northern side from widening the gap.

Jabloteh would take the lead in the 15 minute through Marvin Oliver but it would take only one minute for Connecton to reply when Dominican Republic striker Jonathan Frias found the back of the net, however, teenage sensation Robert Primus got the go ahead goal for Jabloteh in the 37 minute through a well taken free kick that would send the visitors to the locker room 2-1 at the half. However, W Connection never gave up and pilled on pressure after pressure. Devon Jamerson picked up a red card for committing a foul on Connection’s hero Ronaldo Viana. Then when it seemed all was done for the Southerns' Ronaldo Viana came up with an answer, a 90th minute equalising goal that would send the crowd at the Mannie Rahjohn in a deep celebration and also help W Connection's chance of winning the Pro League and keeping a tight gap on the league leaders.

W Connection will now head to Canada to participate in the Toronto Caribbean Soccer League's Annual fundraising event and will be playing against the Caribbean Lions FC on September 6th before returning home to defend it First Citizens Cup title. W Connection will play the winner of the Defence Force/North East Stars on the 12th of September.

W Connection: - Murilo da Costa, Elijah Joseph, Christian Viveros (Gerard Williams), Kern Cupid (Rafael Assuncao de Andrade), Andrei Pacheco, Ronaldo Viana, Teba Mc Knight (Igor de Oliveira Santos), Jonathan Frias, Nickcolson Thomas, Eder Arias-Angullo.

San Juan Jabloteh: - Cleon John, Elton John, Sheldon Bateau, Robert Primus, Nigel Daniel, Devon Jamerson, Noel Williams, Trent Noel, Jason Marcano (Joel Russel), Marvin Oliver (Anton Hutchinson), Earl Jean (Cyrano Glen).

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Flex nice report and glad to see you got the line ups too. Something we have not seen in a very long time from them unprofessional fools who run the Pro League.

Jabloteh have a very young side. Glad to see Nigel Daniel and Jason Marcano's back.

Wonder why Clyde Leon didn't play for W Connection.
