Remember at the World Cup when Avery got a red card vs. Sweden for that game and the remaining games Cyd Gray went from right to left back, and Edwards went from right wing to right back. Sadly this killed our right side potency with Edwards no longer really running up the right wing as he had to defend more. Hopefully we will get someone else for left back.
But we were able to hold Sweden for 45 mins and England for 82 mins scoreless with that formation. Maybe it will allow us to get at least a point in this one? Otherwise we can bring in James at LB
As much as I don't like the lone striker 4-5-1 formation, from the reports it sounds like we played better in the 1st half with this formation and still managed to create some good scoring chances too. So I think it gives us the best chance for a point in this match.
One thing I've noticed past couple games is Edwards and Daniel switching places on the wings during the match, not sure if it's been effective but seeing as Carlos can play left, and Daniel more comfortable in the center maybe we could try this?
