the regional tournament is a proving "big fish small pond" league, but it is the only one we have with which to select players. What needs to happen is to drop players who do not perform sooner rather than later. We tend to hand on to players too long under the premise that they need time to settle into the game. Dropping a player isn't the end of his career. Drop him and let him continue to try to make runs or take wickets while working on whatever deficiencies he may have.
