I now watched the highlights of the two goals. We get to lucky bounce before the ball fell to Yorke and Daniel struck well, great goal.
That is no foul. The player did not even know the defender tackle until he lost the ball. You could see he was not even expecting a call.
We have to be the most dunce team ever.
First up the line hold about five yards to high, from that distance you want to encourage the player on the ball to have to strike the ball longer than he wants to. If we had dropped back a bit more it give the GK a better chance of coming for the ball if the ball is played in the air back post. The trick that the Guats used would have most likely been not used because the ball would have to travel a further distance and it would have been to close to the GK. Having said this though, I think the GK is partly to blame, he did not even take a step closer to the ball and he lost positioning when he took those steps to the left. Instead of stepping left he should have stepped forward ending up in a beter position to make a save to the left or the right.
Secondly, why the hell evrybody went back post and leave the whole front area unmarked? That is too much ground for the keeper to cover and it showed. Mark up on the back post and leave a man to cover the first post while holding the line.
Thirdly why did the coach not give out these instructions as soon as he see how sh i tty they set up to defend this set piece?
