Redknapp plans to appeal Hyland's case.

Harry's work permit wrangle.
By: Alex Livie (Setanta Sports).

Harry Redknapp has confirmed his pursuit of Khaleem Hyland is being held up over a wrangle over a work permit. The Fratton Park outfit have been trailing the Trinidad & Tobago midfielder for some time and it would appear a deal is in place.

The 19-year-old is available on a free transfer having turned down a new deal at San Juan Jabloteh, but he has not made enough competitive international appearances to persuade the Home Office to grant him a work permit.

Redknapp feels Hyland is talented enough to merit the club lodging an appeal, but the Pompey chief is clearly frustrated by the situation.

“We are still trying to get Hyland a work permit,” Redknapp told The News. “He's a very good, young player.

”We've had him over for training and seen a lot of him to know what he's all about. I think he can be a good player here.

”It's gone on for quite a while, which is a bit frustrating. It's just about getting that work permit and then we can get him down here.

”We still want him, though. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.”
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Just watching an interview with Harry Redknapp.

Apparently needs a couple more qualifying games to get a permit
