CNC 3 now breaking this story that the WC 2006 players will get their money in an out of court settlement...even the ones that did not take de TTFF to court!!...

The lengthy financial battle between the T&T Football Federation (TTFF) and the majority of players of the Soca Warriors team that participated at the last World Cup, has come to an amicable end.

This was revealed by TTFF Special Advisor Jack Warner at a press conference yesterday at the Crowne Plaza in Port-of-Spain.

Warner said: “I am pleased to announce that a final meeting between the players and TTFF’s representative Peter O’Connor has brought to an end the lengthy battle between the association and the players.

“The players who were on that Soca Warriors team at the last World Cup in Germany will get their money from today (Wednesday) and over the next 24 hours. We have come to an out of court settlement and the players will receive their money.”

The financial dispute between the players and the TTFF came about due to allocation of sponsorship money from the last World Cup. The matter went to court and now an out of court settlement comes.

Warner added :”What happened should never happen again. This horrid incident could have been prevented with dialogue. We have shown that what dialogue can do, no court can.” (VM)

Kinda hard tuh dress this up as ah "amicable out of court settlement" after an arbitration process you signed onto ruled tha you are obligated to pay them.

How about if u did not try 2 rob d players dialogue dat. Really want 2 know what is d real deal wit this. I feel players break ranks again and some take d bone dat O'Connor throw dem.

Question, If a year after the WC the TTFF had to suspend all national teams because of a lack of avaiable funds, and in 2008 they cannot pay the technical staff or rent for the HCS, where and how will they get that amount of money to pay to the players?
