Haiti is technically eliminated
« on: December 06, 2008, 04:18:15 PM »
Haiti came from behind to close a 2 goals deficit but Gwada said no way! They scored a 3rd goal in extra time to win the match and deal the defending champ a lethal blow. Haiti will have to beat Cuba in its last match and hope Antigua do what Haiti itself failed to do: beat or tie Guadeloupe.

Match ended 2-3.

However, this is the first match since the last gold cup in which Haiti seems to be coming back. Our new colombian coach seems to be on the right path despite the disappointing elimination.

According to my Maths... Haiti have a decent chance still.

If Haiti beat Cuba .....and Antigua beats Guadeloupe, both teams will be on 4 points where as Guadeloupe will stay on 3 points. (Cuba already has 6 points and has already moved on)

At this point Haiti has a superior goal difference than Antigua. If for instance both victories are 1-nil.. Haiti can still have a chance to defend their crown.  !!

Team Pts Pld W D L GF GA GD
 Cuba 6 2 2 0 0 5 1 +4
 Guadeloupe 3 2 1 0 1 4 4 0
 Haiti 1 2 0 1 1 3 4 -1
 Antigua and Barbuda 1 2 0 1 1 1 4 -3
Re-Group, Re-Energize, Return
We'll be back...
I don't know when

score is currently 2-1 Guadeloupe. Haiti is eliminated even if Antigua makes it 2-2.

1-1 was good for Haiti but not 2-2.

Antigua just made it 2-2 (about 10minutes to go). One more goal from Antigua, Haiti is back in.
