Best Little Men in the Game
« on: December 14, 2008, 08:15:26 PM »
Every article I read about Latas there is always the adjective "Little" applied to our No. 10.  Without a doubt our best "Little" player would be Latas. Although most Trinbago players are small when compared to the international players, it had some small men that look like they did not take common entrance yet but were the generals on de field and yuh did not want to play against.

Next to Latapy, I was always amazed at Faustin's ability in de National colours. Back in the days there was a guy called Peanuts from in de east playing for Tunapuna Modnicks in the Arthur Suite league a real small man but played extremely well for his size.

Worthy of special mention: Dexter Sandy (QRC), Kona Hislop (CIC), Sean Constantine.

International - Osvaldo Ardiles (Tottenham, Argentina)

Well if you know of peanuts you must also have heard of Chet Hewett..or just Chet. He went by some other names such as Petit loy, and Marley. his name is legendary in minor leagues and small goal competitions. In Internationals, the french midfield of Platini, Tigana, Genghini and Giresse are some that easily come to mind.

practically the entire spanish national team

david villa, iniesta, xavi, david silva, fabregas...de list goes on. Except for El Nino, Spain current midfield and attack is short men  even Casillas short for a keeper (kix)

in all seriousness, I would have to vote Messi.

Yes Chet was definitely one them.

I was looking for man to name some local players - yuh know de Secondary and Minor League Legends!  Most of the International players although they were short in height, they are/were physically developed (especially in the lower body areas - legs and thighs).  Our players at home had some matchstick legs (Clauzell with socks by ankle) that yuh use to be frighten for them going into a 50-50.

Blessings
