A funny thing happened on the way to the FCC. Jamal Shabbazz opened his mouth and sh@t came out. Sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Tony Greig said the same thing about West Indies, except Holding tore his arse up and Richards blasted England into oblivion. Anyway, back to Mr. Shabbazz. What are you saying now funny man, your team was suppose to teach the young guns from WConnection a lesson. It looks like somebody did not get the memo. But keep talking though because you are a funny man.
I am the punishment of God...If you had not comitted great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.

Stern John will make his debut for North East Stars in Tuesdays First Citizens Cup match vs W.Connection at Hasely Crawford, kick off 7pm. It will also be the debut for the Stars mascot, Stompy The Starman and the new independent supporters club, The Estrellas who have organised a fleet of maxis to bring around 100 supporters from Sangre Grande and Arima. W.Connection will qualify for the semis if they get a win, but even a draw should see them progress.

Tuesdays 5pm match will see T&TEC take on Jabloteh.  Entrance is $30, but ladies free before half time in the first match. There will also be the "Dash for Cash" during both halftimes when supporters can win $500.
Any team from this group still have a good chance of progressing, but realistically, T&TEC need at least a draw and hope Jabloteh beat Rangers on Friday. Alternatively, if Jabloteh lose, they must beat Rangers.

This is where the goats are seperated from the sheeps.

Shurland David is a coach....  :rotfl:

Gordon, Cruickshank, Connell and Jagdeosingh are North East biggest problems.

Cruickshank and Connell are ok workers, they just play without any brains.

Durant, Glasgow, Pollard and Velox should retire, there are to many young good players in T&T to be ignored and North East does not have a good youth program so they will suffer.

OK, first, sorry I didn't supply match report sooner, but I was too vexed to write anything after the game!

You would already have seen the highlights, so I won't bore you with the details. Stars preperation was affected by Gary Glasgow going down with Dengue and kudos to Kaydion "Drogba" Gabriel who played with high energy despite also suffering from dengue.

It was clear that North East were weak on the left hand side with Power constantly having to cover the left back position leaving Pollard and Cruickshank exposed. Combine this with the pace of the Connection attack and North East were punished 3 times.

However, I feel that the W Connection results may mislead people. They are hitting the net, but they are also missing chances. Once teams learn to deal with Hector and take the game to Connection, I feel these youngsters may get a wake up call. The Connection defence like to pass the ball and often this play leads to very fast moving breaks, however, in the first 30 minutes, North East played high up the pitch, denying Connection the chance to build. I also feel that teams can unsettle Connection with more aggressive physical play. It was interesting to note that Stars received no yellow cards, indicating that there was a lack of passion in tackling.

This was a good display by Connection, but it was as much due to Stars poor performances than Connections ability. North East left huge gaps which Connection took advantage of well. Stars seemed to play without any team work or passion for large tracts of this match. Stern John was disapointed that he didn't score early on and feels that had he connected better with his header and scored, the outcome would have been different. I disagree, as the same gaps would have been exploited by Connection. However, kudos for John playing his first competetive 90 minutes since his injury last year and he took his goal well, which should send out a warning.

North East now have to look to themselves to salvage something against Caledonia. Its simple...win or you're out! Even more interesting is that North East and Caledonia play each other again on Tuesday in the Pro League!

Disappointing for North East supporters, but they will be bringing even more "Estrellas" to Fridays game and hope, this time, they can influence the game a little more.

Thought it was interesting that last time Stern scored a goal for a T&T club was the year Woo Ling (who made his debut) was born.

Who is NE goalkeeper? Was he a normal player from the field? At least 3 of those goals were routine saves. Not good.

LOL. It was Andrew Durrant. Although Stars can point to goalkeeping errors in both of their games so far, its worth remembering that keepers are entitled to some protection from their team mates! That said, we have seen a lot of goalkeeping errors in all games so far so its worth taking a speculative shot now and again.

Well, I have to say I'm feeling like an Arsenal supporter must be feeling today. North East have to beat Caledonia to reach the semis, but more importantly, they have to improve their attitude and performance. I don't mind us losing if we play well, but I can't deal with a team that doesn't play with heart and pride. Even more Estrellas attending tonight, so atmosphere should be good.

St Anns vs Jabloteh will be interesting too. A draw would see Jabloteh going through on goals scored, so Rangers have to win. I really hope more folks from this site can get to the matches. St Anns vs Jab at 5pm, NES vs Cali at 7pm. $30 entry, ladies free before 5.45pm.

I just spent 45 minutes writing reports, only to find that when I posted it, I wasn't logged in??? So, its been lost.  :banginghead:

So heres a brief.

Jabloteh 2 - 1 St Anns Rangers

Caledonia 2 - 0 North East Stars

Before I began writing, I was pissed off, now I'm really vexed!! So all I will do is quote the great Bill Shankly:

"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."

North East Stars still doing better than Joe Public, because they are in the Proleague.

Let me finish that sentence for you Mr Andre.

North East Stars still doing better than Joe Public, because they are in the Proleague getting their butts kicked game after game.

Joe Public is already $50,000 richer and is aiming for the first price now.

If North East is better because they compete in the so called Pro league where no one gets prize money, so be it.

And if they continue playing the way they currently are by next season they will be playing in the Super League with a retired 11 who is over priced.

Pollard and Velox is already 40, what can they do, I am sure their legs are weary after 60 minutes ? they are even older than their coach Shurland David.   :rotfl:

I hope they sign their CEO now Sancho, they need help in defence, even though Sancho is known for giving away penalties and scoring own goals.

They were counting on winning everything this year, now they are back peddling.

If anyone here knows the CEO for North East Stars please let them know I could arrange to have Derek King coach their team on my tab. Or maybe they should call back James McClean from Guyana, he did ok with them back in the days.

Shurland David is a coach   :rotfl: :rotfl:  Can he motivate the players to come back, I doubt that, he can't even talk properly.

T&TEC is a new team in the Pro League and they are UNBEATEN in 4 games, not bad.

Jack will raise again !!!!!

"If North East is better because they compete in the so called Pro league where no one gets prize money, so be it."

Joe Public were  part of the board that voted to defer prize money distribution until the govt paid their money. But wait, isn't Jack Warner part of that govt? So, if I understand you correct, Mr Horner, you feel that Jack and his government are responsible for Joe Public leaving the Pro League?

Well, I sincerley hope you write to Mr Warner with your complaint and stop wasting our time here.

"Joe Public is already $50,000 richer and is aiming for the first price now." Congratulations...sincerely, I have a lot of friends at JP and I'm pleased for them. Not sure what the first "price" is...maybe you should get a keyboard with a "z" on it? However, I'm sure that teams like Nottingham Forest could winthe Championship in England if Tottenham run away from the Premiership and gave their players to Forest. Its easy to step down and beat teams that are below your standard.

You sound like you have a serious toothache Pal.

I sense that you are upset, however if you can read English, you will see that Joe Public only uses 2 players from their Pro League team.

Toussaint and Tinto, all the other players and coaches were sold or released, maybe North East Stars should have bought some, with the price tag of Stern John you could have gotten 2 maybe 3 Joe Public players.

Did you read this story as yet ?

Joe Public surge forward
