T&T U-20s win 1-0.
By: Shaun Fuentes ( TTFF).

Despite having three players sent off in the second half, Trinidad and Tobago's national Under 20 footballers pulled off a hardfought 1-0 win over Honduras in a warm up encounter at Plymouth, Tobago on Thursday evening.

Following a 3-1 loss to the same opponents on Tuesday, the Zoran Vranes coached team bounced back with a more positive showing. A 51st minute goal by defender Robert Primus from close to 30 yards out proved to be the difference between the two teams.

The contest was a hotly contested one but team manager Chris De Silva still felt it was unnecessary for Tobago referee Keon Yorke to hand out five second half red cards. Trent Lougheed, Sheldon Bateau and Sean DeSilva were all given marching orders for separate incidents while  Honduras also had two players ejected.

"Overall the game was a very well contested one but the referee just didn't manage it well. We came out pumped up to get a result because we felt we had to approach it like an official tournament match. Our boys were focused and passionate and the result proved to be in our favour," De Silva told TTFF Media.

" Now we will regroup and try to maintain a positive approach for Saturday's match."

TT will now face El Salvador's U20s in another friendly on Saturday from 5pm at Plymouth.

The local boys are preparing for the upcoming final round of the Concacaf qualifiers for the 2009 FIFA World Youth Championship in Egypt. That final round kicks off in TT on March 6.

The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.
