Cedros police are searching for a fisherman who reportedly took an 11-year-old student into some bushes and raped her as she walked home from school. The incident is reported to have taken place on Saturday around 3.30 pm. Police said the girl, who lived with her parents, was walking back to her home when she saw the fisherman.
She told police the fisherman asked her for sex. She told officers that she was sexually active after she was molested by another man on two occasions last November. Police said the girl went into some bushes with the fisherman and had sex with him. She later went home and told a relative.
A report was made to the Cedros police. A medical examination conducted on the student on Saturday confirmed she had been sexually active. Police have since issued a warrant for the fisherman. Investigations are continuing.

A 34-year-old pipe-fitter appeared in the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court yesterday, charged with 13 counts of sexual assault against two minors. David Bob is charged with three counts of sexual assault against a ten-year-old girl and ten counts against a girl under the age of 16. Bob, of Train Line, Ste Madeleine, was not called upon to plead when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Mark Wellington.
It is alleged that on March 15, Bob had sexual intercourse with the ten-year-old girl. He is also charged with sexual assault and serious indecency against the child. Police claimed the second offence occurred at a house in Ste Madeleine, during the period of June 2008 to March 15.
Attorney Mewahlal Chatoor represented Bob. Bob, who is on an attempted murder charge, was denied bail and was remanded to reappear in court on March 31.
‘Rape victim lured into classroom by friend’

A 12-year-old student who was sexually assaulted in a secondary school in south Trinidad was lured into the classroom by a female friend. She was accosted by two male students who blindfolded her and raped her. This was revealed by a source close to the girl who said her relatives were disturbed by police claims that the girl had consensual sex with a 17-year-old boy.
“If that is true, why was her underwear torn and why was she bleeding to the point where she has to wear pampers,” the source said. The Form One student has been warded at the San Fernando General Hospital since the attack on Monday. She has been visited by the school supervisor who was appointed by the Ministry of Education to investigate the incident. The source said they received information that the girl’s friend was paid to lure her into the classroom.
“If you see that child. She cannot stop crying. She is in physical and mental pain,” the source said. After the attack the girl told no one. “She said she was scared...All she wanted to do was speak to her mother,” the source said. Detectives are continuing inquires.
