Bartholomew: Fans can expect more
By Randy Bando (ttproleague.com)

“I’m back to full fitness and fans can expect more,” said W Connection striker Matthew Bartholomew ahead of Easter Monday’s Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Champions Cup clash against SA Cavaly of Haiti.

The former European based attacker Matthew Bartholomew sparked his return to Connection with a second half hattrick against Ag. Centre Bath Estate at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium on March 25.

“It felt good knowing that I can return to Connection and the Pro League and contribute strongly,” said the former Belgium and Hungary based striker.

“I missed the first match against Estate with a groin injury which I picked up a day before the match and that was really disappointing,” he added.

But in the second tie, making his appearance off the bench in the second period, the powerful Bartholomew registered three items in his team’s 12-1 trashing of Bath Estate. Also registering a hattirck on that night was Andre Toussaint.

Bartholomew highlighted Toussaint and Hughton Hector as beneficial elements in the W Connection team.

He said that it was easy to return to the club after two years, as most of the players in the current squad were his teammates before heading Europe.

Bartholomew’s focus is now on Monday’s encounter at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium from 8:30pm, in the second match of a double header. Fellow Pro League outfit CLICO San Juan Jabloteh and Surinamese club Inter Moengo Tapoe will battle from 6:30pm.

“We are ready and have been preparing as well as anybody for this game,” said Bartholomew. “Yes, they (Haiti) have produced some good footballers over the years and we are expecting a tough clash, but we can assure fans that we are ready.”
The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.

Is form is a criteria
