In addition to my usual Brazil, I backing all the African teams that will be in South Africa (except Tunisia), but I will have a special rag to wave for Ghana. They could poison real people this rounds.

i agree dat de team need riquelme and maradonna not ready as a coach...also their defence real shaky, they missing players of the calibre such as walter samuel, ayala and if  u go back some years passarella and ruggeri.
i tink they will still qualify but to contend at de world cup they will need a serious coach such as batista or bianchi.

i like simeone and actually wish he could coach de soca warriors but that will not happen for many reasons.

If dey bring back dem fellas you callin dey....Argentina will miss SA 2010 by not qualifying.

Dem fellas too ole.  As it is, me eh know wha de ass Veron doin on dah team.  Is not like Argentina doh have de yutes....but what dey doh have is wing backs (all due respeck to Zanetti who is a utility player supreme).  Every other top team have dem and how they are used is key to modern football

i wasnt implying de need to bring back ayala and samuel but they dont have defenders that are good as them...dey midfield and attack is probably de best in de world but dat defence is almost as bad as de soca warriors...when heinze is yuh best defender yuh have some problems.

Yuh know I was listening the commentary to this game but not really paying close attention.  I heard the commentator say "Veron" but I didn't look up at the screen because I say cyar be Veron from 2002 campaign and earlier, have to be another Veron a younger brother or cousin....but nah man, all yuh serious is that same Veron??   And I thought we in a mess with we old players....

Ah know our excuse is that we Federation doh "succession" plan properly but what is Argentina excuse, ah thought they had a really good youth system??.... ??? :-\

Argentina next glaring problem is the keeper not good.

It's been a long time since Argentina has had a world class keeper. Or if they have a good one he's only around for no longer than a 2-year spell, then a new one comes along. No one has been really steady for them there over a sustained period of time.

dey produce good keepers at the youth level but for some reason some of dem dont play much at the senior level, players such as cariizo and especially ustari were very good plus in de past they had a lot of keepers doing well in de major leagues but the past few years they are selecting de shithongs...jack must be pickin their team.

Argentina next glaring problem is the keeper not good. On that last goal, he had no business coming so far off his line to challenge Fabiano and get chip. When Kaka play that ball, Fabiano wouldve had a more than difficult angle on goal with a defender tracking back, but the keeper turn that play into a 1 v 1 opportunity, to which Fabiano obliged.

......arm, dinho, ah tink the 'keeper HAD to come out for that ball because Fabiano had the defnder well beaten for pace AND position and he had no choice but to try and close down on Fabiano......I eh tink yuh could really blame the 'keeper on dat one.

Ustari should be their next world class 'keeper, IF he could overcome his devastating injury.

Juan Pablo Carrizo & Nicolás Navarro should be considered as starters. Carrizo had a good campaign in the earlies of the WCQ and Navarro was solid for Napoli last year

Carrizo lost his spot as a starter with Lazio last season and Napoli sent Navarro back to Argentina on loan.

Keeper is still a trouble spot for Argentina.

1949: By the way, the Football Association's guest of honour at Wembley tonight is triple Olympic and World champion  Usain Bolt, surely the fastest man who will ever walk this earth?   Hopefully, Usain will be the dude shaking hands with the players before kick-off - it was Lord Triesman on Saturday. Exactly.

Ah backing England to beat Croatia. I mean, it would be hilarious if England were to miss the WC, but they would consider it a catastrophe and I'll feel bad for them. But I really want them to win to vindicate Capello. I like him, he's a great coach and if they lose he'll probably be sacked.

Oh wait, they have two more games to try and qualify. This is actally rare that they can qualify this early?
