Spann fears Saunders' Wrexham axe.
By: BBC Sport Wales.

Defender Silvio Spann says Wrexham must improve or new players will be brought in after the 2-1 loss to Kettering.

"If we can't do it the gaffer [manager Dean Saunders] will have to look for some other [options]," said Spann.

Saunders railed at the Dragons' errors in defence following the Racecourse loss, calling the second goal "awful", and Spann was replaced on 66 minutes.

"It's always disappointing as player to leave the pitch prematurely," said the Trinidad & Tobago international.

"But if the gaffer has a plan you have to accept it as a man and as a professional think it's for the best because it's about the team, not about you."

Despite the defeat and the loss of their 100% home record, Spann says the club remains confident for the rest of the season and eager to put things right in Tuesday's game at Tamworth.

"It was a disappointing result but it's still early season," Spann told BBC Sport Wales.

"There's no need to drop our heads. There's homework to do in defence and attack, but the mood's pretty stable, heads are high and the ultimate goal is promotion.

"We'll go back to the drawing board for Tamworth, put a couple of things into practice and hope to get it right on Tuesday and make Wrexham happy once again."
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Does it really make sense for him to be playing there at this stage of his career?

Why doesnt he just come back home and play some Concacaf Champions League......lol

Why Spann don't let he football do the talking? For a man who played in a World Cup he should be playing for a better club at a higher level.

How come there has not been any news of interest from other clubs? Maybe he has been talking more than earning his living?

As a fan of his father, I hope he makes a move soon because that club is good for a start but not for a career.

Good luck Silvio, but as Trucco said in the Good, the Bad and the Ugly..."Shoot first talk later"

Spann didn't play in the World Cup- remember, he was injured in the months after we qualified... which was perhaps part of the reason he never got the shine or opportunities he deserved.

He still has two legs and good health, he can shine now, but that's up to him and whether he wants to put in hard, unrelenting and consistant work to improve- he definitely has the talent, but not much time left. The ball is in his court.
