Hamilton Accies have re-signed striker Joel Thomas on loan from Colchester United until the end of the season and released defender Marvin Andrews.

Trinidad and Tobago international Andrews had arrived at New Douglas Park in the summer after helping Raith Rovers win the Division Two title last season.

However, the 34-year-old former Rangers and Livingston defender only played two matches for Accies this season and was loaned out to First Division promotion hopefuls Queen of the South.

He played twice for the Dumfries outfit during December and had wanted to extend his stay at Palmerston Park only to be told to return to Hamilton.
