West Indies cricketers Dwayne and Darren Bravo were yesterday forced to use their own money to purchase airline tickets to travel to St Vincent to represent the West Indies in the upcoming limited overs matches against Zimbabwe, starting tomorrow. The duo showed up at the Piarco International Airport at 5.30 am yesterday only to learn no travel arrangements were made for them to travel to ST Vincent .Read the rest..http://guardian.co.tt/sports/cricket/2010/03/09/bravos-get-blanked-piarco
The fact that the Bravos had to spend their own money is terrible, not because they can't afford it, but because it shows again that the WICB is an inept, incompetent, dysfunctional, unprofessional, organization. It was just a few weeks ago that several players were forced to sleep on the hotel floor in TT. And no one takes responsibility or is held accountable. The person responsible for travel and hotel arrangements should be fired instantly. This is one too much... and lots of people will blame WIPA if they complain. Despite WIPA's sometimes over-reactions, it makes you wonder if their complaints are not entirely warranted.
