I see that the season starts in April 2010 and finishes in April 2011.

1. What would be the length of the break between seasons?
2. How would the next season run, May 2011-May 2012?
3. Are we basically going to have year round football like Brazil?
4. How are the transfer windows affected?

are they attempting to switch up the season to match up with european football?

so the next season will start in Aug 2011?

The most unorganized league in the world.  :-[

It reschedule before the league even starts....   :rotfl:

So why did they release the fixtures in the first place.  >:(

Why didn't they start the league in August the same time as Europe if that is what they wanted to do from the get go. ?

From August 2010 to August 2011.

2010-2011 season begins on April 23.

The 2010-2011 TT Pro League season will begin on Friday 23rd April 2010 to accommodate clubs San Juan Jabloteh and Bmobile Joe Public in their CONCACAF Champions’ League qualifying efforts.

This was unanimously agreed upon by the Board of Directors during a special meeting on Wednesday 6th at the League’s Office in Curepe to push the 2010-2011 season start date from originally set date Friday 9th April to Friday 23rd April 2010 to facilitate both Jabloteh and Joe Public.

Both clubs are scheduled to play in the Round Two of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Club Championship (which is the qualifying competition to the Champions’ League) in Trinidad from April 13 – 17 and the League saw it fit to align its calendar to the benefit of the clubs.

San Juan Jabloteh will join River Plate (Puerto Rico) and Alpha United (Guyana) in Group C while Joe Public, System 3 (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) and Walking Boys (Suriname) are in Group D of the Trinidad pools which will be played at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium. The top team m each pool will advance to the Final round from April 28 to May 10, 2010.

The Pro League date change was also to accommodate the season calendar change which will run from Friday 23 April 2010 to February 2011 as the 2010-2011 season.

This is the message I get.

Due to some administration problems the league start has been pushed back to the 23rd April to allow for the readiness of certain teams.

Will keep you all updated with details as they come.

This Pro League adminstration does act like everything does take them by surprise...like they didn't know that the teams would be participating in the CONCACAF games.
I wonder if they didn't consider postponing a couple of the Jabloteh and JP games closer to their CONCACAF games and then play make-up games later in the season.  Both teams mighta be able to sharpen their skills and better prepare under the pressure of the league games.  ???

Something eh right. If you check the original fixtures these dates were already incorporated. All the adjustment needed was that the games for the weekend of 16th/17th April be rescheduled to be played on the 23rd /24th April. In fact there could have still been 2 matches played on the 16th & reschedule the balance for the following weekend. They had JP & Jab playing on the 16th, that match should have been postponed & they could have played two of the matches scheduled for the 17th on the 16th & the other matches rescheduled to another date.
Obviously the person/s preparing the fixtures is clueless, because with all the info at their disposal they had Jab vs JP playing on the 16th when they had a CFU match on the 17th (what madness!!!)
I think some investigation is needed. Where are our investigative journalists when you need them?
I am convinced that this is not the real reason for this rescheduling.

A note about the effective marketing and advertising strategy used by the league. I live about a 3 minute drive from Manny Ramjohn stadium and to date I have seen any form of advertising and marketing in the area for upcoming season or games.

Thanks to this web site I have been reminded about the double header tomorrow and will be most present.

Election force Pro League to reschedule.
T&T Newsday Reports.

This weekend’s Round One Match Day Four games in the Digicel Pro League have been re-scheduled due to the staging of the General Election.

In the original schedule, the ‘Super Friday’ double-header this Friday, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Mucurapo, had the struggling San Juan Jabloteh against Police, from 6 pm, and reigning champs Joe Public versus Caledonia AIA two hours later.

And, on Saturday, leaders Defence Force were due to face FC South End at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima, Tobago United were expected to host North East Stars at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Bacolet, and W Connection were scheduled to meet Ma Pau at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

But, according to a Pro League official, members of the Police and Defence Force teams are mandated to be on duty throughout the weekend, in the lead- up to Monday’s election.

As a result, Friday’s double-header at Mucurapo will feature Ma Pau- Connection at 6 pm and Joe Public-Caledonia two hours later.

On Saturday, only the Tobago United-North East contest will take place, from 4 pm, at Bacolet.

And, on Tuesday, in a double-header at Couva, Defence Force will meet South End at 5 pm while, two hours later, Police will oppose Jabloteh.
