Cleopatra Borel-Brown opened her 2010 outdoor campaign with silver at the World Challenge IAAF Grand Prix meet, in Dakar, Senegal, last Friday.
The Trinidad and Tobago field athlete threw the iron ball 18.01 metres, while American Jill Camarena-Williams topped the field with an 18.81m effort.
Also on the weekend, T&T quarter-miler Renny Quow finished second in the men’s 400 metres, at the Drake Relays, in Iowa, USA.
Quow got home in 45.69 seconds to finish behind American Greg Nixon (45.08) and ahead of Bahamian Michael Mathieu (46.16).
At the Upstate Invitational, in South Carolina, University of Tennessee student Annie Alexander won the women’s discus with a 52.61m throw.
