It looks like part of a Gatorade set up. He would not be so stupid to alienate the public during a world cup year. I am sure the truth will come out in a bit. May be gatorade gave him the strenght to break the mike in two.

staged.... no way he rip a pzm or pcc mic cover off like that... that thing made to fall, be man handled over and over again... yet he just rip if off, and mash up the pickup components jess like that...

Nah...that look like an ad thing. 
Donovan normally gives a good account of himself in front of the mic...not fishing for answers like in this clip.
