Lalla blames English attorney for delay
T&T Newsday Reports.

Om Lalla, attorney for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) has blamed Mike Townsley, who represents the players, for the delay in reaching an agreement on the payment of monies owed to them from the 2006 World Cup campaign.

He said that it has come about because of a breach of confidentiality by Townsley by going public. Lalla pointed out that such matters normally call for a code of confidentiality.

The preliminary hearing on the matter has already taken place and therefore a judge is expected to return with a decision on the next step of action Lalla said.

Yesterday the players, supported by their English attorney, held a press conference to express their disappointment in the lengthy process to reach a resolution.

Lalla said yesterday that because of Townsley’s breach there is a need to seek another hearing. In the meantime the matter is expected to abide the process of time, as any other matter being heard presently.

The TTFF attorney also lashed out at Townsley for criticisms he leveled against the TT judicial process.
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

So, by becoming Mr Warners lawyer, Mr Lalla has contracted the habit of fabrication of facts without proof!  The article released to the Guardian was read out at the press conference yesterday. Despite many approaches by Mike Townley, the Guardian has refused to name the source of the leak, going as far as to say they are awaiting on legal advice from their lawyers. Townley tried to help by stating that he didn't require the name of the person who leaked the story, just confirmation of who DIDN'T leak it!
I am very worried about the Guardian. Their finances must be really low if they employ lawyers unable to make a simple decision in 2 years and cannot afford to pay for a journalist to attend a press conference about a case they are now directly involved in.

Make no mistake...The Guardian newspaper is actively working against the Soca Warriors.

Funny thing is, the leaked article has absoloutely no bearing on the ruling. It cannot effect the judgement as the judgement was already made. Yes, TTFF could privately sue, but it doesn't effect the outcome. Otherwise, West Ham United would not have had to pay out millions to Sheff Wednesday, when their chairman announced on live tv , after agreeing to not discuss the case,   "We've won!"

Sue for what?  They can't even sue... the leak breaches a court order, so at most the guilty party would be liable to fine and or sanction by the court.  The only way the TTFF would have any sort of leg would to stand on would be if there was an out of court settlement made contingent on the pact of confidentiality.  There was no settlement here, there was an arbitration ruling and no arbiter would issue an indefinite gag order on the parties... the gag order was likely only temporary.  As you said, the breach does not in anyway upset the ruling... Jack and them just stalling and the courts complicit in even taking this matter.
