Very good for neutrals, there has been some speculation here that Blackpool's Baptiste has some Trini roots.

What a fairy tale for Blackpool!

Imagine that their average attendance last season was 8,900 people!

Baps Pens New Deal
 Wed 20 Jan 2010

ALEX Baptiste has given the Seasiders a major boost ahead of Saturday's clash with Watford by signing a new contract.

The versatile defender was out of contract in the summer and although Pool had a further 12-month option, they decided to act now and tie him down on a longer-term deal.

Baptiste has become one of the Championship's most consistent performers, with many opposition scouts commenting on the outstanding performances of the former Mansfield man.

The 23-year-old, who celebrates his birthday on Sunday week, has penned a deal that could keep him at Bloomfield Road until June 2013.
