Trinidad and Tobago ranked low in life expectancy

Its sad we are 135 out of 222 countries with life expectancy at 71 yrs old.

people living only one more year than iraq?  When you see some of the countries ranked higher, it raises some serious questions.  Then again when averages are involved (especially with such a small population) the results are somewhat skewed.

Look at the bottom half, all dem african countries in their 50s!!!!

There are many factors that go into determining life expectancy. To be 7 year behind the USA is not bad actually. That alone say a whole lot. The USA is 235 years years old, whereas T&T is barely a 1/2 century old.

a lot of smaller countries like Singapore and Guernsey are above Trinidad and Tobago plus quite a few caribbean islands too.

To me life expectancy is not as important as quality of life!

Would be more interesting to see a poll/stats based on standard of living & qualifty of life!!

Life expectancy is directly proportional to "quality of life", a higher quality of life translates into a longer life expectancy.  The adverse is also true.
