I am really impress with the discipline, the ability to do the basics and organization of some of the less skillful teams. They know their strengths and stick to them; not making it easy for teams to play against them. Japan can knock the ball too.

Japan certainly showing tht they are not less skillful. Technically they clean in possession, its just that they may not have the one or two individuals that could make a difference. For the last few WC's the trend of organized teams was and is the order of the day.

I totally agree. I felt we played a similar type of game in 2006 but it all fell tuh the weyside after that. So frustratin not to have been able to settle on a technically solid, discipline, hardworking, sprinkled with some skill type of style of play.

As much as I hate to admit it, the Japanese look much more composed in defence when the Dutch come at them....the Dutch defence looking shaky....

From the looks of it on the surface it could very well be that the ball turn on 'im......but sometimes a 'keeper might overshoot on a reaction dive when he feel he don't really have time to read the flight of the ball (until it's too late) but just dive at it..... :beermug:

On another note. By far the best referee to date. Super management of the game and players.  :applause:

I give that award to the ref from Uzbekistan who ref the opening Mexico-South Africa match.  Brilliant minimalist officiating as I call it... yuh hardly know he was on the pitch until yuh needed to know he was there, and then he got all the calls (including the Mexican offside call) right.

Agree with this, by and large the ref was letting the game flow.. Wasn't bothering to call minor knicks, get up and play the football.
