Local boxing champ tested positive for drugs

June 21, 2010

Boxing promoter Buxo Potts is distancing himself from the world boxing organisations investigation of a prominent local fighter.

The boxer allegedly tested positive for a banned substance after her last fight.

The local boxer allegedly tested positive for the drug Norandrostenedione after her bout on April 24.

You may ask what is Norandrostenedione and what are it's uses?

Norandrostenedione assists in building lean muscle mass as well as quick recoveries during workouts.

Speaking to the media Potts says it is the fighter and her handlers who are responsible for what goes into her system.

Potts then made his position clear on the use of performance enhancing drugs in sport.

Meanwhile, Potts revealed that Ramnarine, who aggravated a shoulder injury during the fight with Tada, would not be returning to the ring anytime soon, because of her damaged shoulder.

Whatever happened to paragraphs?  This is a transcript of a report from tv I suppose.  Even so, they coulda clean it up if they want to put it article form.

Boxing promoter Buxo Potts is distancing himself from the world boxing organisations investigation of a prominent local fighter.

...

Speaking to the media Potts says it is the fighter and her handlers who are responsible for what goes into her system.

is he distancing himself from the investigation or the fighter and her handlers?  both?

The boxer allegedly tested positive for a banned substance after her last fight.

The local boxer allegedly tested positive for the drug Norandrostenedione after her bout on April 24.

What kinda editorial process allows these two sentences to be placed consecutively in a published news story?

Potts then made his position clear on the use of performance enhancing drugs in sport.
Here I am expecting/wanting to read the man's position on the use of performance ehancing drugs and instead ...

Meanwhile, Potts revealed that Ramnarine, who aggravated a shoulder injury during the fight with Tada, would not be returning to the ring anytime soon, because of her damaged shoulder.

Just so Ramnarine reach in the story?
