Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board chairman of selectors Dudnath Ramkessoon said yesterday that Pollard, who is currently playing with English County Somerset, will link up with his T&T teammates in Barbados before their first match against Canada on July 22 at Kensington Oval.
T&T were drawn in Zone A along with Jamaica, Canada and the Leeward Islands.
Zone B includes Barbados, the Combined Campuses and Colleges, Guyana and the Windward Islands.
Opener Adrian Barath was also named in the 14-member squad which has three changes from the line-up that placed second in the inaugural Airtel Champions League in India last year.
Pacer Ravi Rampaul is missing as he is recovering from an injury which he picked up while on duty with the West Indies squad in the recent Digicel Test series against South Africa.
The two newcomers to the T20 squad are Queen's Park Cricket Club all-rounder Kevon Cooper, who Ramkessoon says "has a bright future", and Alescon Comets all-rounder Imran Khan.
"Adrian Barath is fully fit," said Ramkessoon. "He was not selected in the third Test but he played a few practice matches with T&T. He has been doing some batting and we have gotten the clearance from Dr Terry Ali for him to play in the Twenty20.
"Cooper has been around the (national) team for a while now and he has been doing well. He is also a seasoned campaigner for Queen's Park. He has a bright future and he is a sensible batsman. His all-round game is very good which is what you need in the Twenty20 version of the game," added Ramkessoon.
Daren Ganga will captain the T&T squad and Ramkessoon said the 31-year-old batsman is committed to the team.
Ganga was recently appointed executive director of development at the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago by new Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Anil Roberts. Ganga will also serve as a T&T Sport Ambassador.
"I think he (Ganga) recognises that his priority is cricket...his top priority will be cricket and I am certain that the government and the Prime Minister will want him to represent Trinidad and Tobago and take the team forward," Ramkessoon said.
T&T will be training at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva today and will have a practice match at the same venue on Saturday.
