The Technical Committee of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has named a 30-man squad of local players who will be joined by their overseas based counterparts to prepare for this month ends friendly international against Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors.
A number of the players were part of the ‘Golden Jaguars’ side which defeated hosts Suriname, French Guiana and the Netherlands Antilles last November to win the inaugural Suriname Independence Cup, defeating all three teams by 1-0 margins.
Quite a number of the players are young and will be relishing this opportunity to represent the ‘Golden Jaguars’ in what is anticipated to be an exciting battle.
Competition to make the final squad will be intense given the fact that a number of solid overseas based players will also be in the reckoning. They will begin arriving from September 19.
The local based players called are: Goalkeepers – Ronson Williams, Richie Richardson, Marvin Griffith and O’Neal Carter.
Defenders – Howard Lowe, Justin Collins, Sherman David, Selwyn Issacs, Kester Jacobs, Colin Nelson, Kris Comacho, Trevon Lytcott and Denver Dennis.
Midfielders – Philbert Moffatt, Llyton Ramsey, Glenorvan Edmonds, Delyon Josiah, Pierre Joseph, Dwayne Jacobs, Dwight Peters, Mustapha Haqq, Marlon Benjamin and Norvil Adrian.
Forwards – Devon Millington, Warren Gilkes, Clive Andries, Stephon Hope, Dwayne Ali, Anthony Abrams and Clive Nobrega.
