Dover confident of Golden Jaguars victory
By Kizan Brumell (Stabroek News)

National coach Wayne ‘Wiggy’ Dover yesterday stated that he was confident of a Golden Jaguars victory this Sunday against Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors in the Kashif and Shanghai inaugural President’s Cup International Friendly encounter at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Dover’s optimism was no doubt boosted by the arrival of three overseas-based players on Sunday.

Alinani Mounter, Shawn `Bubbly’ Beveney and Walter `Boyd’ Moore yesterday afternoon joined their local counterparts at the Guyana National Service Ground on Carifesta Avenue for a training session.

Also arriving from abroad are youth nationals Kevin Beaton and Nicholas Parbudial who will join the under-20 team.

Other overseas-based players expected to arrive this week are JP Rodrigues, Christopher Bourne, Fabian Browne and Jason Lloyd, son of former West Indies cricket captain Clive Lloyd.

Gordon Braithwaite and his under-20 team, who have been encamped since last Friday, now await the arrival of Kyle Beaton who also has indicated he would like to represent the Under-20 team.

Speaking with Stabroek Sports yesterday, Dover oozed confidence stating that this has been one of the best starts a national team has had in quite a while since there have been no injuries to the players who have progressed greatly from where they were when they began.

“So far we are comfortable with this team that we have and I believe that our strength will be playing as a team,” he said.

Dover added that currently they are working a lot on organization adding that they have definitely progressed over the period that they have been working.

The well-respected national coach said…“we will be working hard but will not be engaged in much intensive training sessions but sessions will increase although e we would want the players to be well rested for Sunday and not be too tired.”

He said that there was no doubt in their minds that they were going to win  come Sunday as this was a group looking to create its own bit of history.

So is a joke now, all of a sudden everybody confident they could beat we? Not even "it will be a difficult game"?

Gone are the days when other Caribbean teams were so scared of T&T they couldn't even play properly when they faced T&T on a field!

Now man confident of victory & doh even need to play above they regular level to compete!

Ah wonder if Russell realise the damage and disrepect he is causing by not being able to consistently drop at least 3 on these other Caribbean teams to keep them undermanners?!  :-[
De higher a monkey climbs is de less his ass is on de line, if he works for FIFA that is! ;-)
